Hypnotic!

I could look at this forever ... especially since it ain't a photo - it's a painting.

It makes me wonder how anyone's vision could be so perceptive of the minute detail in the ordinary things around us, and then laboriously project it on to a sheet of canvas.

What is it that makes certain individuals possess such magical combinations of acute sensitivity, in this case visual, plus calculated dexterity, of hand on brush with paint, in order to 2-dimensionally replicate drops of water to look almost life-like?

I watched snippets of an episode on Discovery channel the other day, when art academics used life-size projections of 'live' models to replicate the amazing realism of the Renaissance masters. Did they really do that?

Or were they just as perceptive and dextrous as the Malaysian artist who painted the above?

Who knows, maybe aliens helped him do that.

(If you'd like to visit the artist's website, click on the painting.)
